Beech Park Golf Club

This very pretty course lies to the south of the N7. Such is the density of deciduous trees that Beech Park is more woodland than parkland. On the more open front nine trees still shadow you every step of the way, offering guidance and admonishment in equal measure. On the back nine the trees close in to create some dark, colourful alleys. Combined with the water features it makes Beech Park a charming round of golf that is never less than a pleasure. It is short for a par 72 but that just makes it all the more accessible and enjoyable. That said, the course is

well known for its version of ‘Amen Corner’, a stretch of five holes (9 to 13) that begins and ends with a par five. It’s a burst of challenging holes with the 13th doglegging non-stop around a lake.

Favourite Hole: The downhill par four 11th is just 269 metres. It is a big risk/reward hole as a river runs across the front of the green.

What’s in the Bag? Straight hitting off the tee but you also need to judge when you can go for shots.
